Winter is coming to an end and spring is just around the corner. As water temps start to rise fish will start to feed more. When water temps start to move into the 70's fishing will be outstanding. Redfish will still be schooled up like they were in the winter, but look for redfish to start hitting top-water plugs and spinner baits.  Early spring will be the best time to land a gator trout ( Trout over 5lbs.) All of these big trout are females full of row, so on my boat they will all be released. Flounder are starting to show up as they make their return from the ocean. Finger mullet, mud minnows and plastic grubs will catch flounder this time of year. Also look to catch big sheepshead off the ICW near pilings and oyster  bars. It's not uncommon to catch sheepshead over 6lbs. Fly fishing for reds will remain good throughout the spring. Charters will be picking up so book your trips early.  I will be taking a group of 5 anglers to the Bahamas in April for some springtime fly fishing for bonefish. This trip is for four days and the cost is $1200 and that includes your flight, food, and lodging.  This is a real bargin trip, and if you have a group of five that would like to go, give me a call for more details. Also, ask about our fishing school coming this December.
